How to certify your properties
- If you are not already a member, click here to “Apply for Membership”
- Add your membership fee to the shopping cart by clicking on the appropriate “Add to cart” button. In order to be charged correctly, choose Landlord or Property Manager, Real Estate Agent, or Homeowner
- Click here to “Certify a Property”. Once submitted, a request will be sent GLHCI to contact you and arrange for your certification visit.
- Add your property certification to the Shopping Cart by clicking on the “Add to cart” button.
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 to certify any additional properties you wish to certify at this time.
- Click on “View Cart” and submit your payment.
A “Green Landlord Certified” auditor will visit your property and take an inventory of the energy efficient features of your property. The auditor will:

Recommend changes to the home or suite to improve the energy efficiency of the property.
- Provide you with an inventory of the property in its present condition and the required changes to meet minimum “Green Landlord Certified” standards.
- Once the changes have been made a follow up inspection will be performed to verify that the required changes have been completed and the property is now qualified for “Green Landlord Certification.”
Once the process is completed, Certificate will be mailed to you with the following information:

Your company name.
- The address of the property.
- A list of the green features of the property.
- An overall energy efficiency score for the property.
- A seal showing the property to be “Certified Green.”
